Spirulina is a microscopic algae living in freshwater and alkaline environments that has been found on this planet since the beginning of life.
Spirulina has been one of the most original forms of life from the beginning of time, helping to sustain and develop the food chain. It is well known that prehistoric algae and plankton life forms in the lakes and oceans of the earth provide the basic nutrients for all life in the world. They are the basis and the beginning of the food chain. Through photosynthesis, algae and plankton convert sunlight into proteins, fatty acids, carbohydrates and nearly all vital nutrients.
Spirulina is a tough survivalist. Some Spirulina species survive at rest even when the water around them evaporates. They can dry on rocks at temperatures as high as 70 ° C. Because of its heat resistance, Spirulina can maintain its nutrients at high temperatures during transport and processing.
Spirulina algae contain an amazing array of nutrients: chlorophyll, proteins, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, essential fatty acids, nucleic acids (RNA and DNA), polysaccharides and a vast array of antioxidants. Spirulina is so nutritious that some people say you can only live on Spirulina for a while. *
Take 6-12 tablets (3 – 6 g) daily with water.
1 pack of 100g is enough for about 33 days (with a consumption of 6 pieces per day)
Spirulina is available from us as a powder, but also in the form of compacts. Spirulina tastes a bit like a blend of leafy greens and fish, with a slightly “sour” aftertaste of sulfur.
Spirulina has a cool-wet character. This means that spirulina is a good choice for people with a hot-dry metabolism, as it balances the tendency to be too hot or dehydrated. Spirulina’s cool-wet signature also makes it an ideal food in hot-dry areas. This is one of the reasons why the inhabitants of the pre-Columbian Mexico City used spirulina as the primary source of protein. It is perfect for the climate there.
Spirulina can be added to superfood smoothies, fresh juices, raw cocoa preparations, homemade salad dressings, and even spread over salads.
A normal daily dose for adults is 3-10g daily, children under 10 years should get along with 3-5g and theraupeutic / athletic doses range from 11-30g daily.
